Debabrata Das is an Assistant Professor in the area of Operations Management and Decision Sciences at IIM Kashipur. Prior to this, he was a Ph.D scholar at SJM School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology,Bombay. His doctoral dissertation focused on closed-loop supply chain modelling wherein the influence of various promotional offers such as buy-back and product exchange on design, operation and performance of an integrated forward-reverse supply chain was discerned. IIT Bombay honoured him with the "Award for Excellence in Thesis Work" for the year 2014-2016 for the outstanding research contributions.
His research and teaching interest revolve around Supply Chain Modelling and Optimization, Multi-Objective Optimization, Industrial System Dynamics and Simulation, Closed-loop Supply Chain Management and Operations-Marketing Interface. He has published his work in reputed international journals such as International Journal of Production Research, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis.
Before embarking into Ph.D, he completed his Master’s degree from Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and also worked as a Risk Analyst for two years in Citi Group Global Services Ltd.He has received Certificate of Merit award for his research paper presented in IAENG International Conference on Operations Research, Hong Kong, 2012. Recently, he was invited to participate in the “New Faculty Development Consortium” organized by Decision Science Institute (DSI) held at Seattle, USA, November 21-24, 2015.
