Conference on Sustainable Livelihoods in Uttarakhand
November 19-20, 2015

The Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Development at Indian Institute of Management Kashipur is organizing a conference on Sustainable Livelihoods in Uttarakhand. The conference is intended to be a forum for sharing best practices and strategies for sustainable livelihoods. It would also provide an opportunity for interaction and networking with academics, researchers, professionals, administrators, government officials and policy makers, NGO and industry representatives, and others working in the area of livelihoods and sustainable development in Uttarakhand.

The Conference will have seven thematic tracks. Papers/ Case Studies are invited for the following tracks and topics:

Submissions, preferably in English language, are invited from participants on any topic listed above or related areas in any of the following categories:

  • Research Papers / Case Studies
  • Work-in-Progress: Notes on any completed or ongoing research project
  • Commentaries & Reports on emerging issues or techniques

The last date for submission is September 30, 2015 and notification of acceptance or otherwise will be sent within a week. However, we strongly recommend early submissions to allow enough time for a review and feedback in case there are changes to be made.

Submissions should be sent as MS Word attachment by email to: slconf2015@iimkashipur.ac.in. Submissions received after the deadline or/and in a format different than specified will NOT be considered as part of the proceedings.

Submission Format:

  • A4 size paper
  • Length of paper: 5000 words or less
  • Single line space
  • Margins: 2 cm on the left and 2 cm on the right
  • Format: Align left
  • No footers and headers allowed and no numbered pages
  • Fonts:
    • Title: Times New Roman 14 bold
    • Subtitles: Times New Roman 12 bold
    • Text: Times New Roman 12
  • First page: Title of submission, Name/s of author/s, Affiliation/s & Email of the author/s
  • Second page: Abstract of maximum 300 words (or one page), Key words (under abstract)
  • Third page: Full paper (unless only abstract is intended for publication)
  • Last page: References
  • About the author(s): self-introduction of maximum 100 words.

The allocated time for Oral presentations will be around 10 minutes followed by Q&A. The recommended number of slides should not be more than 12. Equipments that will be provided by the conference include laptop, LCD projector, whiteboard, microphone and sound system, limited internet access and printing facilities. The official languages of the conference are English and Hindi.

The proceedings of the conference will be available for limited period of time on the conference website. Select papers from those presented at the conference will be published with ISBN number. The copyright of the published papers will vest with IIM Kashipur.

While registration is necessary to attend the Conference, there is no registration fee. Limited number of complementary lodging and board facilities are available on twin sharing basis for a maximum for two nights on first come, first serve basis.
