Biography

Dr. Nalinakshya Panda is an Assistant Professor in the Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management Area at the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur. He earned his FPM (PhD) in Human Resource Management from XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur. Prior to pursuing his doctoral studies, he served as an Academic Associate in the Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management Area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and the Indian Institute of Management Indore. In these roles, he worked closely with faculty members in course preparation and delivery, case development, research projects, student evaluation, executive education programmes, and other academic initiatives, gaining valuable exposure to management education and research.

His research lies at the intersection of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, with a focus on workplace incivility, knowledge management, employee well-being, and the changing nature of work in the knowledge economy. His broader research interests include workplace deviance, person–organization fit, recruitment and selection, learning agility, and informal communication networks. He is particularly interested in understanding how organizational contexts shape employee attitudes and behaviours and how evidence-based HR practices can foster ethical, inclusive, and high-performing workplaces. His current research seeks to develop theoretically grounded and managerially relevant insights into workplace relationships, employee behaviour, and the evolving role of human resource management in contemporary organizations.

His research has been published in leading international journals, including the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services. He has presented his work at several prestigious national and international conferences, including the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting, the Indian Academy of Management (INDAM) Conference, the Pan IIM World Management Conference, the International Conference on Public Policy and Management at IIM Bangalore, and the International Conference in Human Resource Management at the Lisbon School of Economics and Management, Portugal.

Dr. Panda teaches courses in Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, HR Analytics, Agile HRM, Competency Management, and HR Audit. His teaching philosophy emphasizes case-based learning, experiential pedagogy, and evidence-based decision-making to bridge theory and practice while fostering critical thinking, analytical capability, and responsible leadership among students.

He actively contributes to the academic community through journal and conference reviewing. He serves as a reviewer for Personnel Review and Management and Labour Studies and has reviewed papers for the Academy of Management (AOM) and the British Academy of Management (BAM) conferences. In recognition of his contributions to the scholarly community, he received the Best Reviewer Award from the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management in 2026.
