OSM Club, the Operations and Supply Chain Management Club of IIM Kashipur, is a student-run body dedicated to fostering interest and building expertise in the dynamic domain of operations and supply chain management. Established during the formative years of the institute, the OSM Club proudly stands as one of the oldest and most active clubs at IIM Kashipur.

Guided by its mission to empower students and strengthen their domain understanding, the OSM Club serves as a vital platform for aspiring operations and supply chain professionals. These include guest lectures, case study competitions, business simulations, quizzes, industry interactions, and skill-building workshops. Such initiatives provide students with valuable exposure to industry best practices, evolving trends, and real-world operational challenges.

Grant Thornton Advanced Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

The club organizes the Grant Thornton Advanced Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a trained professional in the Lean Six Sigma methodology who leads improvement initiatives, analyzes data, and enhances processes by identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities. The integration of Lean Six Sigma with Business Intelligence enables participants to understand analytics and visualization techniques that can be applied to uncover customer potential and shape product and service design. This combination empowers individuals to answer business questions more effectively—faster, with greater accuracy, and enhanced reliability.

Grant Thornton Advanced Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification

The club organizes the Grant Thornton Advanced Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. Black Belts possess a comprehensive understanding of advanced statistical tools and analytical techniques and are equipped to lead cross-functional teams, collect and interpret data, and effectively communicate insights to senior management. They also play a pivotal role in mentoring and training other Six Sigma professionals within the organization. The integration of Lean Six Sigma with Business Intelligence enhances understanding of analytics and visualization techniques that can be leveraged to uncover customer potential and inform product and service design, thereby enabling business questions to be addressed more effectively—faster, with greater accuracy, and improved reliability.

OPS-HUNT - Intra College Treasure Hunt

This fun-filled event provides participants with an exciting opportunity to test their knowledge of operations and supply chain management through a series of engaging riddles. Equipped with clue cards, participants advance through successive rounds, each presenting a new challenge that guides them closer to the final objective. The event delivers a distinctive treasure hunt experience that seamlessly blends interactive entertainment with meaningful learning opportunities.

OPS-KASCADE - Intra College Simulation Event

The Structure Building Challenge is a simulation-based exercise in which participants construct a structure while navigating operational constraints such as budget, time, and resource limitations. Applying decision modelling techniques from operations research, participants evaluate scenarios, optimize resource allocation, and determine the most effective course of action to achieve desired outcomes. This challenge highlights the significance of leveraging analytical frameworks to address complex business problems in a structured and strategic manner.

OSMOSIS - National Level Quiz

The National Level Flagship Quizzing on Operations is a highly competitive quiz competition designed to evaluate participants’ knowledge across diverse areas of operations management, ranging from supply chain management and process improvement to quality control and logistics. The event seeks to identify and recognize individuals who demonstrate exceptional understanding, analytical ability, and expertise within the domain.

OPS-BLAZE - National Level Business Simulation

A national-level operations simulation game offers participants an exceptional platform to apply their theoretical knowledge and practical skills within a realistic, simulated business environment. Teams are challenged to demonstrate effective collaboration, swift decision-making, and a strong foundational understanding of operations and supply chain management while navigating dynamic business scenarios.

OPERATIUS - National Level Case Competition

A national-level case study competition in operations and supply chain management provides an excellent platform for students, professionals, and researchers to demonstrate their analytical and problem-solving capabilities within the domain. It enables participants to apply theoretical concepts gained through academic learning and professional experience to address real-world, industry-specific challenges in a structured and strategic manner.

OPERACLE - National Level Case Competition

This flagship pan-India case study competition challenges participants to develop the most effective and efficient solutions to the case presented. The competition is designed to foster critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills within the domain of operations and supply chain management, while enabling participants to apply their theoretical understanding and practical expertise in a simulated business environment.

OPS-ENLIGHT - Guest Lecture Series

Centered on digital transformation, operations and supply chain management, product operations, and enterprise leadership, the series seeks to inspire and shape the next generation of professionals. Industrial Visits

The objectives of the Industrial Visits organized by the OSM Club are guided by three core principles: “Education, Exposure, and Experience.” These visits are designed to enhance understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain practices prevalent across industries. By offering students firsthand exposure to real-world operations, the initiative effectively bridges the gap between theoretical classroom learning and practical application in dynamic industrial environments.
