After spending 12 years working in IT, I decided to go back to school and pursue an MBA. Looking back, joining the EMBAA program at IIM Kashipur (2023–2025) was one of the best decisions I made for my career. It was not easy to return to studying while working full-time, but the experience was genuinely rewarding.

What made the journey special was the support I received throughout. From the admissions process to day-to-day coordination and classroom learning, the administrative team and faculty were approachable, helpful, and encouraging. They made the transition back to academics feel smooth. I also learned a great deal from classmates who brought different professional experiences and perspectives to every discussion.

The program helped me see the bigger picture beyond technology. Courses in strategy, finance, operations, and leadership gave me a better understanding of how business decisions are made and how different functions work together. I became more confident in asking the right questions, sharing my ideas, and looking at challenges from a business perspective.

Today, I am based in California, USA, and work as a Senior Procurement Systems Consultant at Exelixis, a biotechnology company. IIM Kashipur has played a big role in this stage of my professional journey. The learning and confidence I gained continue to help me connect technology with business needs and work effectively with teams across functions. I am grateful I took that step after 12 years, and I would make the same decision again.
