Saksham Agarwal joined Samsung as a Software Engineer, he had ambition but wanted more than just technical expertise. He sought to understand the why behind the data—the business, the decisions, and the bigger picture. This aspiration led him to IIM Kashipur’s EMBA in Analytics. The EMBAA experience at IIM Kashipur reshaped his perspective. Through courses, peer learning, and constant exposure to real-world problem solving, he began looking beyond tasks to understand the bigger picture, business impact, stakeholder needs, and strategic decision making. He applied these learnings at work by taking greater ownership, driving automation initiatives, contributing to process improvements, and mentoring team members. What changed was not just what he did, but how he approached problems—with structure, clarity, and a focus on outcomes. Balancing a full-time role at Samsung, with not a single day of work from home, alongside the rigour of an IIM program was not easy. However, he remained committed every single day, recognizing that growth does not happen within a comfort zone. His managers noticed the transformation. His work evolved significantly, and he achieved a key milestone—being promoted to Lead Software Engineer in March 2025.He remains grateful for the learnings, the people, and the journey that helped him grow from executing tasks to leading with purpose. This journey stands as one of the most defining chapters of his professional life.
