The Design Innovation Cell (DIC) at IIM Kashipur is a student-driven initiative that envisions positioning the institute as a hub for human-centric innovation. Anchored in the principles of design thinking, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the cell fosters a culture of creativity and innovation by empowering students to develop innovative solutions in product design, services, consultancy, and research.
Aligned with the Design Innovation Centre (Navaashay), the DIC Cell focuses on providing hands-on experiences through workshops, mentorship programs, real-world projects, and industry collaborations. The cell actively partners with global design and consulting firms, leading design institutions, and technical institutes across India to facilitate masterclasses, speaker series, and nationwide competitions. By building these strategic collaborations, the DIC Cell offers students and external stakeholders a platform to engage with cutting-edge innovation frameworks and global best practices.
Through its initiatives, the DIC Cell strengthens IIM Kashipur’s positioning as a centre of excellence in design thinking-led innovation, equipping students with the skills to excel in an evolving business landscape and enabling them to emerge as future innovators and leaders.

Nirman Niti Program - Incubation
DIC’s upcoming incubation and pre-incubation initiatives extend its design-led approach from ideation to execution, giving students a structured space to refine, validate, and scale their ideas with academic rigour. These efforts encourage hands-on innovation while preserving student ownership and ethical governance. By enabling sustained collaboration with IITs, NITs, universities, industry, and public agencies, the initiative strengthens institutional ties and shared learning. Overall, it creates lasting value by nurturing future-ready innovators and embedding collaboration-driven innovation into the academic ecosystem.
AVINYA 2.0 – From Idea to Impact
AVINYA 2.0 is the annual conclave of the Design & Innovation Cell, IIM Kashipur, designed to bring together industry leaders, students, and young innovators to explore how ideas can be transformed into scalable, sustainable impact in the age of Artificial Intelligence. Anchored in the philosophy of Navaashay – the Design Innovation Centre at IIM Kashipur, the conclave bridges management thinking, technology, and responsible innovation. Through a thoughtfully curated panel discussion, AVINYA 2.0 connects career pathways with real-world practice, highlighting future-ready skills, AI/ML tools, and global sustainability frameworks. With participation from MBA students, college students, and Atal Tinkering Lab innovators, the conclave embodies inclusivity, relevance, and action-oriented learning, reinforcing innovation as a mindset, not just a solution.
InnoViz 1.0
InnoViz 1.0 marked the Design & Innovation Cell’s first flagship initiative, bringing together students from IIM Kashipur to solve real-world problems through design thinking. With a crisp structure, clear evaluation criteria, and strong participation from MBA and MBA Analytics students, the event showcased thoughtful, feasible, and creative solutions. The smooth coordination — from communication to evaluation and result announcements — helped establish a strong foundation for innovation-driven collaborations on campus.
Design Thinking–Led Innovation & Career Advancement Workshop
The Design & Innovation Cell regularly conducts workshops focused on design thinking, innovation, and career development for students from diverse academic backgrounds. These sessions combine structured problem-solving frameworks with practical career guidance, encouraging participants to explore purpose-driven career paths and develop future-ready skills. Through interactive activities and collaborative learning, the workshops help students build confidence, clarity, and an innovation-first mindset while equipping them with tools to approach complex challenges creatively.

The Design & Innovation Cell hosts guest lectures and expert sessions featuring professionals from leading organisations and technology-driven industries.
