Serving as the official hub for explorers at IIM Kashipur, the Expedition Club is committed to introducing the entire community to the breathtaking wonders of Uttarakhand's mountains, and abundant opportunities within the tourism sector.

Aligned with IIM Kashipur's ethos of the triple bottom line - People, Planet, and Profit - the club's primary objective is to promote sustainable tourism practices in Uttarakhand. Activity

  1. Go Nomad: Go Nomad is The Expedition Club’s annual pan-India vlogging competition. It aims to view places from a different perspective, fostering creativity and celebrating the spirit of travel. The participants had to submit a vlog of duration under 3 minutes and the submissions were evaluated on the basis of editing, content quality and storytelling through visuals.
  2. Voyager of the year: Voyager of the Year is a pan India article writing competition based on a particular theme. The event aims to inculcate a love for documenting travel in the written form and promote Tourism in Uttarakhand. The parameters used to judge are vocabulary, pictures, information and storytelling.
  3. Khoj: Khoj is an intra-college quiz competition based on Travel and Tourism, where various questions were asked that revolved around the true essence of expedition. Short video based and audio-based questions were also asked to inculcate the awareness of travel and culture of India.
  4. Slow cycle race: Slow cycle race is an initiative that focuses on riding the cycle with utmost slow pace, which helps in bringing a sense of coordination with mind and body. It was initiated to create a friendly atmosphere among the students and increase the habit of cycling among the peers.
  5. Rishikesh Trip- A 2-day trip to Rishikesh on 19th and 20th August 2022 that included Camping, Sightseeing, Meals, Bonfire and Music.
  6. Kausani Trip- A 2-day trip to Kausani situated in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand which offers a beautiful view of the peaks including Trishul and Nanda peaks. The trip included Camping, Trekking, Sightseeing, Meals, Bonfire and Music.

Trip to Chakrata, Uttarakhand:

A two-day trip to Chakrata offered students an unforgettable escape into Uttarakhand's serene hills. The journey blended nature, adventure, and team bonding, featuring a breathtaking sunset at Chirmiri Top and a thrilling trek to Moila Top. With stunning landscapes and moments of camaraderie, the experience was truly unforgettable.

The Slow Clan (A Slow Cycle Race) :

An exciting twist to traditional racing! The Slow Clan challenges participants to cycle as slowly as possible without losing balance. The goal isn’t speed but control, patience, and focus. This fun-filled event fosters laughter, friendly competition, and a test of endurance, making it a memorable activity for everyone involved.

The "Go Nomad" competition encouraged participants to showcase their travel experiences through engaging and creative vlogs. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and served as a platform for individuals to share their unique travel stories and perspectives.

The Open Mic Competition provided a platform for participants to narrate their adventures, travel stories, and moments of camaraderie. From personal journeys to the inspiring escapades of friends, the event was filled with laughter, inspiration, and heartfelt connections.

Voyager of the Year:

A nationwide article-writing competition hosted on Unstop, designed to ignite a passion for travel storytelling and promote the spirit of tourism. Centered around a specific theme, this event encourages participants to craft compelling narratives that capture the essence of exploration, adventure, and cultural discovery.

The Obstacle Course:

An unforgettable visit to the Army Cantonment, witnessing the strength, discipline, and precision of our armed forces! From intense drills and tactical driving to logistics, weaponry, and defense tactics, we gained firsthand insights into military operations. A thrilling highlight—getting up close with helicopters and their strategic role!

Pangot Trip, Uttrakhand:

A two-day excursion to Pangot on the 21st and 22nd of October 2023, accompanied by 55 people, that included trekking, sightseeing, bonfires, and musical entertainment.

Chopta Trek, Uttrakhand:

A two-day journey to Chopta, accompanied by 37 people, included mountain trekking, camping, sightseeing, bonfires, and musical entertainment, offering views of the world's highest Shiva temple and several majestic peaks like Meru, Bandarpunch, Nilkantha, Trisuli, and Nanda Devi.

Celestial Odyssey:

Organized at ARIES Nainital was a magical journey into the cosmos. Under a dazzling night sky, we observed the radiant moon, the mesmerizing glow of Jupiter, the mystique of distant nebulae, and other captivating constellations. This unforgettable experience deepened our appreciation for the wonders of the universe.

A thrilling 3-day trip to Jibhi, Jalori Pass, and Kasol, packed with adventure and exploration! We discovered the hidden beauty of Mini Thailand, embarked on a snowy trek to Raghupur Fort, and experienced the spiritual serenity of Manikaran Sahib. A perfect blend of nature, adventure, and unforgettable moments!
