About Details

"It’s not the thrill of victory that shapes you—it’s the grind, the grit, and the growth that comes with every game."

Using that spirit, the Sports Committee of IIM Kashipur is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and competitive sporting culture. Through diverse tournaments and events, we provide students with opportunities to showcase their skills, push their limits, and embrace true sportsmanship. Whether in high-intensity competitions or recreational matches, we ensure sports remain an integral part of campus life, promoting excitement, teamwork, and passion.

We design each tournament to challenge players in unique ways, testing their skills, strategic thinking, and resilience. These events go beyond competition—they cultivate sportsmanship, friendship, and excellence, shaping individuals both on and off the field.

Beyond organizing events, we meticulously manage the sports inventory, ensuring efficient procurement and disposal to meet the evolving needs of the students. We also actively pursue strategic partnerships and collaborations with other institutions, expanding opportunities and enriching the sporting experience at IIM Kashipur.

With every match played and every challenge embraced, we aim to leave a lasting impact on the sporting culture of IIM Kashipur. As we continue to grow and evolve, our commitment remains the same—building a community where sports inspire, unite, and empower.

Play Hard, Play Fair!

Prarambh 8.0:
To foster bonding between the senior and junior batches, we organize Prarambh, a competition where MBA1 competes against MBA2 in 15 different sports. A win in each sporting event earns the winner one point, and the batch with the highest cumulative score is declared the Prarambh champion. With Prarambh being the first major tournament of the year, both batches bring incredible energy and camaraderie to their teams, bringing the whole campus to life.

Sangraam 8.0:
Sangraam is another major event of the Sports Committee, which aims at promoting collaboration and healthy competition amongst the batch. Sangraam 8.0 was played among 4 teams in the knockout format in every sport, ensuring high pressure and excitement in every match. The two batches collaborate as they come together and play for the pride and glory of their respective teams.

Agnitraya XI:
Agnitraya is the Annual Inter–College tournament held by the Sports Committee of IIM Kashipur. In its eleventh iteration, the 3-day tournament attracted colleges like MDI Gurgaon and IIM Amritsar among others. All colleges vied for the top spot as 11 different sporting events were held in this grand fiesta, featuring a prize pool of more than Rs. 2,00,000.

KPL 11.0:
The Kashipur Premier League (KPL) is our flagship event. Modeled after the Indian Premier League, it provides students with a platform to not only showcase their sporting skills, but also refine their managerial skills in a competitive environment. Emulating the IPL's auction system, students take on the role of team managers, strategically utilizing virtual money to build their squads. The 11th edition of KPL saw enthusiastic participation, with over 180 students engaging in the player auctions. With 5 teams battling it out for glory, this month-long tournament provided us with thrilling and unforgettable moments of skill and sportsmanship.

National Sports Day:
On the occasion of National Sports Day, the Sports Committee of IIM Kashipur conducted a 3-day event consisting of sports competitions like Basketball, Table Tennis, Tug-of-War, and a Mini-Marathon. The faculty, along with the MBA and PhD students, actively participated in the events, ensuring that National Sports Day was celebrated with the significance and enthusiasm it truly deserves.

Chess-E-Thon:
The tournament was open to both the MBA1 and MBA2 batches and saw participation from 30+ students with boys and girls competing in the same pool. The games were conducted on the Lichess platform with participants being able to play the games online on their devices in the classroom. The tournament was conducted in the Swiss format.

At IIM Kashipur, we don't just chase victory; we sprint, dive, and sometimes stumble—because that's how champions are made!
